ComparePricing, explained
Simpleview pricing, line by line.
Simpleview, now sold as Granicus Destinations, doesn't publish US prices: every contract is a quote. But it does publish a full price list in one place, its UK government catalogue (G-Cloud 14, 2024), and public records from US cities and counties show the same shape in dollars.
Every pound figure below is from that UK list, for a "small destination (town)" unless noted, with a rough dollar conversion at about $1.30 to the pound. US contracts are negotiated and vary, so treat these as the shape of the bill, not your quote.
The short version: the website license is the small part. The money is in support billed every year, items priced one by one, and the build, usually inside a multi-year term.
What each line costs.
Website license (CMS)
£3,412 a year (about $4,440)
One site on its own domain, unlimited editors. A village pays £2,925, a city £4,875, a region £5,850.

£2,632 a year (about $3,420)
Support for the people editing the site, as its own yearly line per domain (£3,802 for a city or larger).
Website hosting, by traffic
£396 to £10,920 a year (about $515 to $14,200)
Priced by monthly bandwidth: £396 for 2.5 GB, £1,458 for 15 GB, up to £10,920 for 500 GB. The list says hosting may change during the term to match your usage.
Listings licenses and their hosting, per staff user
£460 plus £792 a year per user (about $1,630 per user)
The business listings module (the partner extranet is included with it) and its hosting, each priced per user for a town.
Event submission and approval form
£975 to set up, then £975 a year (about $1,270 each)
The basic form for the public to submit events; an enhanced form is £1,462 to set up.

£1,600 a year (about $2,080)
A flat fee for a town (£1,000 for a village, £8,000 for a region).

The tool, a £487.50 setup and £487.50 branding setup, and email credits bought in blocks (£600 for 100,000).
SEO packages
£3,120 to £24,960 a year (about $4,060 to $32,450)
Optional 12-month packages by site size and level, from Starter to Enterprise.

From £11,050 templated, £16,022 enhanced, £34,060 bespoke (about $14,370 to $44,280 and up)
Project management, account management and testing; extra customizations and integrations costed separately.
Design
£7,702.50 or £11,310 (about $10,010 or $14,700)
Standard or enhanced design package with consultation, layouts and up to three rounds of changes each.
Imports, migration and content
Imports from £487 each; migration £520 plus £32.50 a page; articles £780 per 1,000 words

Training and extra work
£1,462 a session; £130 an hour
CMS training for up to 4 people per session, and day rates for anything outside the list (£195 an hour for a tourism strategist).
A real US quote: Tourism Santa Fe, 2022
$71,800 for one year
$59,800 licensing (CMS $16,000, then partner listings $1,500, events calendar $2,000, itinerary builder $2,500, AudioEye $8,000 and more, each priced separately) plus a $12,000 support plan of 120 hours.

What it comes to.
UK list: license £3,412 + editor support £2,632 + hosting (2.5 GB) £396 + two listings licenses £920 + their hosting £1,584 + reports £1,600 + event submission form £975 + email tool £487.50 + 5,000 email credits £350 = about £12,360 a year, roughly $16,100. More traffic or more staff users raises it; SEO is extra.
UK list: the recurring £12,360, plus a templated build £11,050, event form setup £975, email setup and branding £975, one data import £487, content migration setup and 100 pages £3,770, and two training sessions £2,924 = about £32,540, roughly $42,300, before a design package (£7,702.50 or more). A bespoke build instead of the template adds £23,010, about $30,000.
UK list: 12 x £780 = £9,360 a year, roughly $12,170, on top of everything above. With Hiveway, one of us writing your pages, events and newsletter every month is $599 a month.
Tourism Santa Fe: $71,800 for one year (2022) and an estimated $287,200 over four years (2023). Nacogdoches CVB: about $27,000 to renew its website (2019).
$999 a month, about $12,000 a year, with the site build, hosting, support, event and listing submissions, email sending and setup included. No build fee, month to month.
What to watch for.
Simpleview is a deep, proven platform, and for a destination with a convention sales team, a booking engine or research needs, much of that price buys real things. Its CRM, partner extranet and data products are genuinely strong.
For a small tourism office that needs a visitor website, events, listings and a newsletter, the published line items add up to more every year than Hiveway for Destinations ($999 a month), before the build. If that describes you, compare one flat number against the sum of the lines.
- Support is billed as its own yearly line, separate from the license, so ask what happens when you need help and that line isn't in the contract.
- Hosting is priced by traffic and the list says it can change during the term. A successful campaign can move you up a tier.
- Listings licenses and their hosting are per staff user, so adding a part-time person adds two lines.
- Public event submissions are a module with its own setup and yearly fee.
- Every data import and every migrated page is priced, which adds up when you're moving years of content.
- Multi-year discounts (5% for two years, 10% for three on the UK list) trade a lower rate for less freedom to leave.
- Ask whether your quote includes accessibility monitoring; Santa Fe's priced AudioEye at $8,000 a year.
The short version: Hiveway for Destinations is $999 a month, flat, month to month. (the big tourism platforms bill support, every import and every article separately, every year) It's in its founding season: we're building it now with our first chamber.
Questions, answered plainly.
Does Simpleview publish its prices?
Not in the US, where it's quote only. It publishes a full price list in pounds in the UK government's G-Cloud catalogue (the 2024 list is linked below), and US cities and counties publish their contracts as public records.
How much does a Simpleview website cost per year?
On the UK list, a small town's recurring lines come to about £12,360 a year (roughly $16,100) before SEO. Public US contracts run higher: Santa Fe paid $71,800 for one year, and Nacogdoches was quoted about $27,000 to renew.
Is support included in a Simpleview license?
The UK list says licenses include updates, support and account management, and then also lists "Customer Support for CMS Editors" as a separate yearly line (£2,632 for a town). Santa Fe's US quote carried a $12,000 a year support plan. Ask exactly what your license covers.
Why are the figures in pounds?
Simpleview's only published price list we could find is its UK government catalogue. We convert at about $1.30 to the pound for scale, but US pricing is negotiated separately.
What does Hiveway leave out that Simpleview has?
A convention and meetings sales CRM, a booking engine, a digital asset library, ad serving, research and economic impact products. If you need those, Simpleview's price buys them.
