The other choiceChoose WildApricot if

You're a small chamber on a tight budget, comfortable setting things up yourselves, and you'll use its own payment service.

  • Your chamber is small, your budget is very tight, and someone on staff enjoys building pages.
  • You'll use Personify Payments, so the 20% servicing fee doesn't apply.
  • You want to try before you buy: WildApricot offers a 60-day free trial.

Our choiceChoose Hiveway if

You want software shaped like a chamber, a website we build and host, and a flat price that doesn't climb with your contact list.

  • You want the website built and hosted for you, not built by your staff.
  • Your contact list is bigger than your member list (it always is at a chamber) and you don't want the price to follow it.
  • You want to use your own Stripe account without a penalty.
  • You want each member to be a real page on your own domain that AI can read.

The short version: Hiveway for Chambers is $299 a month, flat, month to month. (ChamberMaster starts at $3,900 a year, before a website) About Hiveway for Chambers

WildApricot is the affordable choice a lot of small chambers start with, and it earns that: a published price, a free trial, no setup fee, and a website builder in every plan. It's built for any membership organization, from a garden club to a chamber, so a chamber's own shape (businesses with several contacts, tiers, a public directory that sells membership) is something your staff build by hand.

Two mechanics matter most at a chamber: the price is set by how many contacts are in your database, not by paying members, and using a payment processor other than WildApricot's own adds a fee to your plan.

What you'd actually pay

The honest math.

WildApricot publishes its prices, which is rare in this market. Every plan has the same features, and the price is set by contacts: $66 a month at 100 contacts, $82 at 250, $154 at 500, then $265 at 2,000, paid monthly. Paying a year ahead saves 10%, two years 15%. Its help center says archived records stop counting toward the limit, which tells you every other contact does: owners, staff at member businesses, event guests and newsletter readers.

Its billing policy adds a Payment System Servicing Fee equal to 20% of your plan if a US or Canadian account takes payments through PayPal, Stripe or Authorize.net. Using its own Personify Payments avoids it, at 2.99% + $0.30 per card payment.

Hiveway for Chambers is $299 a month ($3,588 a year), the same for a chamber of 80 members or 800, with the website, setup and the move off your old system included. If you want one of us doing the work with you every month (your newsletter, your pages, your events), that's $599 a month on top, and never required.

Moving off WildApricot?

At no charge, from an export of WildApricot.

One honest note Hiveway is in its founding season. We're building it now with our first chamber, so it isn't something you can sign up for off the shelf today.

  1. Your members and their contacts
  2. Payment history and renewal dates
  3. Every old directory link, redirected to the member's new page so their rankings come with them
  4. Your website, rebuilt and hosted as part of the price

Questions, answered plainly.

How much does WildApricot cost for a chamber?

It depends on contacts, not members: $154 a month at 500 contacts and $265 at 2,000, paid monthly, less if you prepay. A chamber's contact list is usually several times its member count.

What is WildApricot's 20% fee?

Its billing policy adds a Payment System Servicing Fee of 20% of your plan when a US or Canadian account processes payments through PayPal, Stripe or Authorize.net instead of its own Personify Payments.

Is WildApricot cheaper than Hiveway?

For a small chamber, often yes, before you count the website your staff build and keep up. Hiveway's price includes the website, built and hosted by us, and the move off your old system.

Does Hiveway take a cut of dues or tickets?

No. Dues and tickets are paid into your chamber's own Stripe account. Stripe charges its normal processing fee; we add nothing on top, ever.
